Tesorini Montessori Family Daycare Policy

1. Introduction

Tesorini Montessori Family Daycare (“Tesorini Montessori”) is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate Montessori environment for young children. Our program follows the principles of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and complies with all relevant Australian and Queensland laws, including:

  • Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations

  • Public Health Act 2005 (Qld)

  • Child Protection Act 1999 (Qld)

  • Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)

  • Family Assistance Law

  • Upcoming Child Safe Organisations Act (Qld) – effective 1 October 2025

2. Program Participation

  • The program is designed for children who are walking with stability up to 4 years of age.

  • Each child is encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace within a respectful and inclusive Montessori setting.

  • Families are expected to support the Montessori philosophy of independence, respectful interactions, and choice.

3. Enrolment and Orientation

  • Availability: Enrolment is subject to available places. Families are invited to join the waitlist until a space becomes available.

  • Documentation Required: Before starting care, families must provide:

    • Completed enrolment form

    • Child’s birth certificate

    • Immunisation History Statement (per “No Jab, No Play” requirements) or medical exemption

    • Emergency contacts and authorised pick-up persons

    • Relevant medical or custody information

  • Home Visit: Before your child’s first day, I will carry out a home visit. This helps ensure each child feels secure and emotionally safe as they transition into the Montessori program.

  • Orientation: Families and children are invited to an orientation visit before commencing care.

  • Records: Enrolment and attendance records are kept securely in line with Regulations 158–162 and 177–183.

4. Fees and Payments

  • Fee Schedule: Current fees are provided to families separately. Fees cover education, care, and materials.

  • Payment Terms:

    • Fees must be paid weekly in advance via bank transfer or direct debit.

    • A refundable bond (two weeks of fees) may be required to secure a place.

  • Child Care Subsidy (CCS):

    • Eligible families may receive CCS through Services Australia.

    • Families are responsible for ensuring CCS enrolments are confirmed.

    • Families must pay the gap fee directly to Tesorini Montessori.

  • Refunds:

    • For term enrolments, fees are non-refundable after two weeks from term commencement.

  • Absences & Public Holidays: Fees are charged for all booked days, including absences due to illness, holidays, or public holidays.

  • Non-Payment: Late fees may apply. Continued non-payment may result in suspension or withdrawal of care.

  • Withdrawal: Families must provide two weeks’ written notice to withdraw from care.

5. Health and Safety

  • The service complies with all relevant health and safety regulations, including the Public Health Act 2005 (Qld).

  • Children who are unwell or experiencing contagious illnesses must not attend care until medically cleared or are symptom-free for 24 hours.

  • The daycare is maintained in a safe and hygienic condition, with daily safety checks and regular cleaning. Harsh chemicals are avoided.

6. Child Protection and Wellbeing

  • Tesorini Montessori is committed to the safety and well-being of all children.

  • The service complies with the Child Protection Act 1999 (Qld) and mandatory reporting requirements.

  • All educators hold current Blue Cards (Working with Children Checks) and child protection training.

  • Any concerns about child safety will be reported to relevant authorities as required by law.

7. Behaviour and Respectful Conduct

  • Tesorini Montessori uses ‘Positive discipline’, a child-rearing and classroom approach that focuses on teaching and guiding children rather than punishing them. It emphasises respect, understanding, and learning from mistakes. The goal is to help children develop self-discipline, responsibility, empathy, and problem-solving skills

  • Behaviour that disrupts the learning environment or compromises any child’s physical or psychological safety may result in a review of enrolment.

  • Guidance strategies are positive, supportive, and consistent with the National Quality Framework.

8. Privacy and Confidentiality

  • Personal information collected during enrolment and attendance is stored securely and managed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

  • Information will not be shared with third parties without consent unless required by law.

9. Liability and Disclaimer

  • While every effort is made to provide a safe environment, Tesorini Montessori is not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage sustained during sessions, except where required by law.

10. Policy Updates

  • This policy is reviewed annually or whenever laws or regulations change.

  • Families will be given at least 4 weeks’ notice of any significant changes to fees, terms, or policies.
